Electoral Review proposal to split Fen Ditton parish in two    20 May, 2015

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has been conducting a review of electoral arrangements for Cambridgeshire County Council. They are asking for people’s views on their draft recommendations, which include new electoral divisions, division boundaries and division names across the county.

The recommendations include a proposal to split Fen Ditton parish into two electoral wards:

  • One ward, responsible for electing 3 parish councillors, would include the village and would become part of the Waterbeach division within the county. This division would extend northwards as far as Chittering, and would also include Horningsea, Milton, Waterbeach and Landbeach.
  • The other ward, which would be responsible for electing 6 parish councillors, would include Wing and remain part of the Fulbourn division.

In these maps, the blue lines show the parish boundaries, and the red lines show the boundaries of the proposed new divisions:

You can comment on the recommendations by writing to

or by email. They would like to know:

  • Do the proposed divisions reflect local communities?
  • How do you think the proposals can be improved?
  • Are the names of the proposed electoral divisions right?

The consultation closes on 6th July 2015.
