News  »  Changes to 196 bus service starting 28th July UPDATED

Starting on 28th July, the operators of the service between Waterbeach and Cambridge, through Horningsea and Fen Ditton, will change from Whippet to Stagecoach following re-tender of the contract. As a result, the journeys will operate with different numbers and a different timetable, and there will be only one off-peak journey in each direction.

• The peak morning journey will operate as citi3 with route as existing 196 until Ditton Lane in Cambridge, then as citi3 to Cambridge city centre.
• The peak evening journey will operate as 9B but follow the same route as the existing 196.
• Off-peak journeys will operate as 19 but follow the same route as the existing 196 between Waterbeach and Cambridge. Will additionally serve Landbeach.

UPDATE: Stagecoach have issued a revised timetable for the off-peak journeys, which will now be stopping at Wright's Close as well as at the crossroads.
